Proper health is important for living. People spend their days making sure they eat the right foods and make sure their health, both physical and mental, is doing okay. In the world of digital content and products, you’ll see your fair share of self-help items. Books, packages, schedules, templates, they all focus on one thing: making sure the viewer gets the help they need.
After reflecting on these trends, I realized I had become the researcher and creator. For my digital research project, I was tasked with understanding the process of researching and learning about a digital product. Through my extensive studies, I decided that self-wellness items would be my main focus.
Into the Deep Market
My research first led me to the web of vast marketplaces. You’d be stunned by just how many products and sites are dedicated to selling a product. No matter. I found loads of useful sites, but the ones that stuck out to me the most were Gumroad, Sellfy, and SlidesGo. You’ve probably heard of some of these sites. Each provided their own unique outtake on the world of proper self wellness.
- Gumroad: provided a lot of products, but for health, it had a strong emphasis on physical items like books, or had outside templates to help. Had okay pricing.
- Etsy: Provided a greater variety of templates and ideas. Focused more on promoting health and scheduling what to do, rather than selling a book. Had okay prices.
- SlidesGo: Can bring more attention to health topics to more people, but is limited to only the presentation form, limited room. Has free to low prices.
The prices were the most interesting. All the sites stayed in similar pricing fields, but sometimes you’d see the wildest prices, ranging in the 100s-300s dollar count. The markets themselves have to compete with multiple different versions too. No one template will be the same; each was different in its own way.
Ready…Compete!
With the sites in mind, I searched through each, trying to find the perfect idea of what I could do my digital market research on, and I was stunned by what I found through my competitor analysis.
1. Advanced Life Planner Notion

From Gumroad, I found a beautiful template of an all in one planner. While the pages were long, the system itself was done really well. Each part brought a new wave of scheduling, advice, and creativity all into the same place. It offered help with mental stress, finances, and more. What a wonderful find from Gumroad.
2. Healthy Food Habit Promoter

From Etsy, the Healthy Food Promoter was another idea to consider. While food wasn’t what I thought I wanted, this gave me some thought. The setup was extremely nice and offered reusable contact for anyone to use. It also could be used not just for yourself but also as a way to promote good health options.
3. SlidesGo Health Template

Something I hadn’t considered was slideshows. Originally, I assumed phone templates were ideal, but this made me think otherwise. The template is well organized and offers plenty of health ideas and recommendations to use. Plus the site is on a lower price range than the others and could be a good place to sell.
The choice was difficult, but ultimately, the winner is……….. Number 1.
Audience was the Key
Why four, you may ask? Well, the reason was the audience. While all options had great qualities, a lot of people would need to see the templates. Gen Z and Millennials are the best groups to target for self-wellness. By having a template that focuses on the users benefits rather than just promotion, it means that the audience will be able to get a template that works both for themselves and for other people. The template was available for all devices too, meaning social media users from Gen Z or heavy online shoppers like Millennials will have a greater chance of seeing the final product.
What a Take Away
I believe a planning template for health is not just another product—it’s an opportunity to make a real difference in people’s daily lives. Now that my product focus is clear, my next step is to implement and explore the top platforms for its promotion. This digital marketplace journey has shown me the value of research, and I hope you’re inspired by the possibilities that effective digital market research can reveal.
